Suchitra Pillai/Habeas corpus/ Advocate Maya

According to Kottiyam police friendship with her friend’s husband led to her killing. Suchitra Pillai was killed by Prasanth, Kozhikode .she  belonged to Kollam Mukthala in Srivihar. The accused, Prashant, hailing from Vadakara in Kozhikode, had been married for over a year and a half ago. Prashant, a music teacher, befriended his wife’s family friend Suchitra. Continued intimacy through social media turned into love.

Prashant stayed with his wife and parents in his Palakkad home. After school holidays, he took his wife home to Coonamkaikulam. It was then that he went to Palakkad with Suchitra. Prashant told the police that he did not want to quit the relationship. Suchitra was married to Kottarakkara in 2008 and Haripad in 2015. These relationships are legally separated.

He was working as a beauty trainer at the Pallimukh Academy Center, Kollam. Her husband told her friends that she was in a different place because she was not in harmony with her family. Suchitra had been friends with Prashant’s wife for many years. The locals say that they have often seen Suchitra come to their house. The locals were very positive about Suchitra, who was close to her family. But Prashant’s testimony came to light that the family friendship had grown to romance without the family knowing it.

Suchitra Pillai is a member of the rich family of Mukhtala. Daughter of father and mother. He was smart in his studies too. No doubt there was some financial dealings with Prashant. According to reports, the music teacher had given him a loan of Rs 2.5 lakh to buy the piano. Police are investigating the same.

Habeas Corpus Petition

Habeas Corpus petition filed by Suchitra’s mother Vijayalakshmi to find daughter Suchitra left the house saying she was going for the Ernakulam course and called home for the next two days. Later, when her mother called the beauty parlour owner, she was informed that her husband’s father was ill and was going to Alappuzha. The complaint was lodged with the Kottiyam police. The complaint was lodged with the city police commissioner as there was no serious investigation.

The petition was filed by the HC. The investigation was then handed over to the ACP-led District Crime Branch. Prashant was arrested following a probe on a mobile phone. Prashant had earlier said that Suchitra had gone with a friend from Maharashtra. Prashant’s rented house in Palakkad Manali was also observed by the police.
